SpeakTrue for families and clinicians
SpeakTrue is a text-to-speech and AAC app for people with speech loss. AAC means tools that help you communicate when speech is hard. This page is for the people who support them: family, friends, carers, and speech and language therapists.
For families and carers
- Set it up together. Create an account with the person. Choose a voice they like. Save the phrases they use most on the Soundboard.
- Help them record their voice. If they can still speak, help them record samples with a guided reading script. Read about voice cloning and voice banking.
- Use one account on each device. One account works on the web, iPhone and the Android beta. A plan bought on the web or iPhone works in every SpeakTrue app with the same account.
- Check the age rules. SpeakTrue is for people aged 13 and older. People aged 13 to 18 need permission from a parent or legal guardian. See the Terms of Use.
For speech and language therapists
- Try it in a session. The web app runs in a web browser, with nothing to install. A Free account needs no payment.
- Know where the data goes. Cloud voices and transcription send text or audio to ElevenLabs, DeepInfra, Inworld or OpenRouter, depending on the voice or model. On-device voices run on the phone. Read the Privacy Policy.
- Know the limits. Cloud voices have a daily limit and a monthly limit on every plan. On-device voices need free storage (165 MB to 3.2 GB for each model) and work best on a phone or tablet with 6 GB of memory or more. See the plans and prices.
