SpeakTrue for aphasia and stroke
If aphasia or a stroke has changed how you speak, SpeakTrue can say words out loud for you. SpeakTrue is a text-to-speech and AAC app for people with speech loss. AAC means tools that help you communicate when speech is hard.
Aphasia is different for each person. Some people also find typing hard. Use the parts of SpeakTrue that work for you.
Save phrases before you need them
A family member, friend or therapist can help you type and save phrases ahead of time. Then you tap a phrase to play it. You do not have to type it again.
Here are some phrases people save:
- “I have aphasia. Please give me time.”
- “Yes.” “No.” “Not sure.”
- “Can you write it down for me?”
Type and play
Type a short message and press play. SpeakTrue says it out loud in the voice you choose. Read more about typing to speak on the web and iPhone.
Turn speech into text
Speech to text turns recorded speech into text you can read. Record speech or upload a recording.
